What is WMU?
Woman’s Missionary Union in a church is a missions ministry or program that provides awareness and participation opportunities to help a church involve all of its members in the mission of God, especially women and children.
How does WMU involve people in Missions?
WMU's six areas of missions focus reflect a biblical understanding of missions and provide a holistic approach to missions awareness and participation. They are:
1. Support missions.
2. Pray for missions.
3. Learn about missions.
4. Engage in mission action and witnessing.
5. Participate in the work of the church and denomination.
6. Develop spiritually toward a missions lifestyle.
"Called to Love" is the 2008-2010 theme/emphasis.
"Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul and mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself." Matt. 22: 37-39 NIV
