What is wom?
Woman’s Missionary Union in a church is a missions ministry or program that provides awareness and participation opportunities to help a church involve all of its members in the mission of God, especially women and children.
How does wom involve people in Missions?
wom's six areas of missions focus reflect a biblical understanding of missions and
provide a holistic approach to missions awareness and participation.
They are as follows:
Support missions.Uphold, encourage and maintain all missions efforts.
(Matthew 28:19-20)
Pray for missions.Prayer is the most important thing we do to support missions.
(2 Thessalonians 3:1-2)
Learn about missions.Read, study and listen.
(Acts 14:27)
Engage in mission action and witnessing. For people outside the church and special needs or circumstances.
(Luke 19:10)
Participate in the work of the church and denomination.Become involved in missions at church, in your community, and throughout the state and world.
(Ephesians 4:16)
Develop spiritually toward a missions lifestyle. Our Great Commission is not a great suggestion. It is a command.
(Matthew 28:18-20, Colossians 1:9-10)
The Lila Robertson WOM (Women On Mission) Group meets the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 11:00 AM.
"Stories have power.
They delight, enchant, touch,
teach, recall, inspire, motivate,
challenge. They help us understand.
They imprint a picture on our minds.
Consequently, stories often pack more
punch than a sermon. Want to
make a point or raise an issue?
Tell a story. Jesus did it.
He called His stories 'parables'."
